RCVS Christmas donation and opening times

This year’s RCVS President’s Christmas Box will be donated to the international animal charity SPANA (Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad).
Our £3,000 donation will be used to facilitate new training for key teaching staff at Ethiopia’s veterinary schools, which will help these staff to train Ethiopia’s student vets in providing appropriate equine veterinary care.
“Having been involved with Rotary in working in developing countries, I have seen at first-hand how a relatively small amount of money can have a huge impact if used in an intelligent way,” says RCVS President Jacqui Molyneux.
“This project particularly appealed to me as it involves training the teachers who train Ethopia’s vets.
"As more and more vets are then taught by these staff, this knowledge and skill becomes more widely disseminated – there is a snowballing effect.”
The RCVS President’s Christmas Box is a charitable donation that we have made since 2010 in lieu of sending Christmas cards.
Previous recipients have been Hounds for Heroes and the Veterinary Benevolent Fund.

The RCVS and RCVS Charitable Trust will remain open on certain days over the festive season, as follows:

- Friday, 28 December - open
- Monday, 31 December - open until 3pm
- Tuesday, 1 January - closed
- Wednesday, 2 January 2012 – open
