New 'For the Record' podcast

27 January 2021

According to the RCVS Survey of the Veterinary Profession (2019)1, only 3.5% of vets in the UK identify as Black or minority ethnic. So what is it like to study veterinary medicine as a black, Asian or minority ethnic student?

In the latest episode of 'For the Record', we hear from four veterinary medicine students, who responded to our call via the British Veterinary Ethnicity and Diversity Society, as they discuss their thoughts on veterinary education and the profession so far.

Sanaa Cockar (University of Cambridge); Isobel Corp (University of Bristol); Stephanie-Rae Flicker (Royal Veterinary College); and Nicole Regan (University of Liverpool) 'met' virtually in November 2020 to record this conversation.

Listen to the latest episode now, at the link below or by searching 'RCVS Knowledge' on your favourite podcast platform.

You can also hear from Amanda Boag and Mandisa Greene, the 8th and 9th female Presidents of the RCVS, as they discuss their careers, their journeys into RCVS Council and the importance of embracing diversity within the professions in the podcast For the Record - Mandisa Green and Amanda Boag.

Our podcast series ‘For the Record’, offers a platform to underrepresented voices within the professions. The podcasts will also form part of our Archives to inform future generations. To contribute ideas for future episodes, please contact us at [email protected]
