Clinical audits, protocols and checklists are increasingly common in vet practice and are a requirement for the higher levels of the Practice Standards Scheme and the awards. But often these are devised by practice owners and/or clinical directors and not shared as widely as they might be with the whole team. It can be felt that these are ‘clinical’ and yet for them to work, the whole team from Practice Manager to nurses to receptionists need to be on board.

This very interactive virtual CPD day will start with an introduction to ‘QI’, cover the clinical audit, checklists and systems, looking at why errors occur, and how to run a successful, no blame, ‘significant event’ audit. There will be opportunities to share experiences with other delegates, pick up lots of useful information and practical tips and understand how to apply these to your particular practice and, most importantly, how to get the whole team on board.

Who will benefit and outcomes
This course can help practice managers, head nurses or clinical directors get a Quality Improvement Strategy in place in their practices.
