This case example details a significant event audit that was completed at a mock veterinary practice 'QI Vets'. The fourth of our features in Vet Times looks at how the team took action after a team member recorded a 'near-miss' event occurring in the dispensary.

This case example shows how Samantha Thompson RVN initiated a clinical audit to identify hypothermia in post-operative patients and used the results to make changes within practice. Samantha was awarded Highly Commended in the 2020 Knowledge Awards for her QI initiative.
