VN Trustee will be missed by all
29 June 2012
All of us were deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the untimely passing of our recent Trustee, Tracy Mayne.
Tracy had just stepped down as Trustee after her seven-year term came to an end.
She was looking forward to continuing her association with the Trust and had a raft of ideas she was planning to follow up.
Tracy had been a stalwart promoter of all things ‘veterinary nurse’ on the Board.
She always encouraged veterinary nurses to apply for grants, and willingly gave them advice on how to do so.
She made a point of meeting with all new BVNA Presidents to encourage both organisations to work together.
Tracy was a practice owner, and keenly wanted to impart her knowledge and skills to other veterinary nurses to encourage them to be similarly ambitious.
She had recently been working on an idea of a CPD course that the Trust could run for veterinary nurses.
Tracy was consistently a source of rigorous thinking and enquiry on the Board, and eager to make a contribution or ask a question that she felt needed asking.
Her fellow Trustees respected and liked her, and appreciated her professionalism and practicality.
That doesn’t give an indication of her sense of fun, which was always there, and part of her enthusiastic approach to everything. We will all miss her.
Our sympathies go to Tracy’s family, friends and colleagues who said goodbye to her this week.
