Veterinary nurses’ views needed by wellbeing website

13 May 2010

Input from veterinary nurses is needed by Vetlife (http://www.vetlife.org.uk/), a website set up two years ago by the main veterinary organisations to be a source of advice and help for veterinary professionals on issues including mental health, finance, addiction and working relationships.

“It is clear that there is a real need to support the mental wellbeing of veterinary nurses,” says Dot Creighton, RCVS VN Council Vice-Chairman and member of the Vetlife Steering Committee. “One way that we are trying to do this is through developing the Vetlife website – and we need veterinary nurses’ help to make sure that it reflects the needs of VNs working in practice.”

Ideas and comments about Vetlife can be contributed by any veterinary nurse by emailing [email protected].

If you are a veterinary nurse living in the London area, and willing to contribute an evening of your time, you may also like to take part in a small focus group that will be held on the evening of May 26 (7pm -9pm) in Mansfield Street, London W1 (near to Oxford Circus). Refreshments will be available and travel expenses reimbursed. Please contact Vanessa Kearns at [email protected] for details.
