Selling one's 'sole' for RCVS Trust - the Veterinary Times way
31 July 2008
On 1 November, Tamzin Thornton and Harry Waddle, Associate Director and News Reporter of Veterinary Times will walk barefoot over red-hot wood embers measuring some 800 degrees 'C' – all in aid of RCVS Trust.
Tamzin said: "Last year, I ended up leaping out of a plane for The RCVS Trust, so we had to come up with something to top that! Never let it be said that I won't walk over hot coals for a good cause."
Harry added "I am nervously anticipating the opportunity to raise money for a fantastic cause. Having written about a number of grant recipients, I have seen the difference the RCVS Trust can make and am keen to contribute. I've been assured that medical experts will be standing by, just in case!"
Gerri McHugh, Director of RCVS Trust said “We remain indebted to Veterinary Times for its continued generous support of our work. For a number of years we have benefited from very regular and comprehensive coverage of our veterinary educational and animal welfare projects and services and the additional efforts made by an increasing number of Veterinary Times staff to raise funds for our work
Tamzin and Harry’s fire walk is the latest in a long series of sporting challenges that Veterinary Times staff have undertaken for our work over recent years and is certainly the most “extreme” to date. Typically, they have set themselves an ambitious sponsorship target – I do hope the veterinary profession will support our “sole-mates” in their efforts to raise much-needed funds for RCVS Trust.”
