RCVS Day 2007 - open to all

6 June 2007

All members are welcome to attend this year's RCVS Day - our Annual General Meeting and award ceremony - taking place on Friday, 6 July 2007 at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, London.

Following the formal business of the AGM, veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses will be presented with their awards by RCVS President Sheila Crispin, in front of family, friends and colleagues.

Sheila will then give a review of her year as President before welcoming new members to RCVS Council and VN Council and introducing Mr Bob Moore as President for 2007-2008.

The AGM and presentation of awards will be followed by a performance of Bach's Suite for Unaccompanied Cello No 3 in C major, by Jonathan Deakin, and a talk entitled 'Exploits in Antarctica: Evidence of Global Warming' from guest speaker Sir Howard Dalton FRS, DEFRA's Chief Scientific Advisor.

A fork luncheon will then be served in the RCS's Edward Lumley Hall.

Guests at RCVS Day will have the opportunity to view John Hunter's collection of writings and specimens in the College's Hunterian Museum, which contains many items of interest to veterinary surgeons and highlights Hunter's historical ties with the RCVS and the close links between human and veterinary medicine and surgery.

To apply for tickets, please contact Fiona Clark on [email protected] or 020 7202 0773.
