Launch of Prioritisation Project
15 April 2016
Don’t miss your chance to advance evidence-based veterinary medicine!
We are pleased to announce the launch of the Prioritisation Project – dedicated to identifying gaps in veterinary knowledge that veterinary and allied professionals want addressed. We aim to then fill these gaps in a series of summer workshops.
This is an exciting opportunity to have your voice heard. By taking part, you will be providing us with the tools to provide better information and make evidence accessible to those working in the veterinary profession.
Due to the vast list of potential topics within the veterinary caseload, a process of prioritisation is needed to identify the most important and useful areas to pursue. The output of the project will be a prioritised list of questions across key veterinary fields, where veterinary practitioners have indicated a need for more information – to be addressed in Knowledge Summaries (Critically Appraised Topics).
RCVS Knowledge aims to encourage and support an evidence based approach to veterinary medicine in the UK and internationally. One way we do this is by providing topical Knowledge Summaries that encourage and assist in the development of Evidence-Based Veterinary Medicine (EBVM). Knowledge Summaries are short, critical summaries of the best available information on a defined clinical question – easily accessible to all on our open access journal – Veterinary Evidence.
To take part, we are asking veterinary and allied professionals to complete a short survey consisting of up to six parts; including canine/feline medicine, equine medicine and emergency care. From these, you will generate PICO questions addressing an evidence gap within your chosen topic/s. The survey will only take up to 15 minutes to complete.
The project is being run by RCVS Knowledge in partnership with Crowe Associates Ltd.
The survey is open to all RCVS Knowledge EBVM Network members – to join, simply fill in your name and email address here – and closes midnight 1st June 2016.
Complete the short Prioritisation Project survey for the chance to win (or be reimbursed) £50 off your conference ticket to Veterinary Evidence Today – the EBVM Network Conference 2016 – hosted in the heart of historic Edinburgh (1-3 November).
