Going the extra miles for the Trust
11 August 2009
Five intrepid Trust supporters are set to cover 35 miles of the North York Moors in just four days from Friday 14 August.
This will be the Herriot Ramblers’ third annual sponsored walk and RCVS Trust is delighted to be one of the group’s chosen charities once again .
The walking challenge, which is the creation of Norman Leslie MRCVS, will see participants walk along the Esk Valley from Castleton to Whitby, taking in moorland and villages in the North York Moors National Park.
Half of the funds raised will support the RCVS Trust and half will go to the Friends of Herriot who support the ‘The World of James Herriot’ museum in Thirsk.
RCVS Trust Director Cherry Bushell said, “We’re really grateful to all the walkers for strapping on hiking boots and rucksacks for our cause for a third year running.
"It is only with the support of people like Norman Leslie and his companions that the Trust can continue to do so much for animal welfare both in the UK and overseas. We wish them all the very best for their challenge”
