Excellent results in veterinary nursing summer exams
14 August 2008
The newly-released results for the summer veterinary nursing written examinations are excellent. Of the 1,200 plus candidates who took the examinations, 91% of the level 2 candidates and 94% of the level 3 candidates passed the papers*.
The level 3 equine pathway did particularly well, with all ten candidates passing their examinations.
This summer marked a radical change in the way the examinations were taken, with candidates sitting the exams electronically at local independent test centres around the country (the same centres used for the theoretical driving test!).
Head of Veterinary Nursing Libby Earle said: "From now on, we shall be holding three written exam sessions a year (and four practical sessions) so that, as well as being able to sit the papers nearer to home, students can time their exam applications to suit their individual progress more readily."
* first attempt pass rates. Overall pass rates were 88% (level 2) and 93% (level 3).
