Clinical Audit Awareness Week 2023 resource pack
3 November 2023
When’s the last time you carried out a clinical audit? A well-executed audit can help you improve patient outcomes, improve your team’s job satisfaction, and save money.
For these reasons, you may already be doing clinical audits of your own. However, we’re also aware that many worry that auditing can be hard to fit around a busy schedule. That doesn’t have to be the case.
So, to celebrate Clinical Audit Awareness Week 2023 from 6-12 November, we have assembled this resource pack that will help you make a start or improve what you’re already doing with minimal effort. Whether you’re new to clinical audits or have a few under your belt already, there’ll be something here that you can use in practice to improve your quality of care.
Keep an eye on our social media channels (#CAAW2023) this week, and use the following resources for inspiration and support for your next audit cycle:
Already auditing? Apply for a Knowledge Award 2024
If you are inspired by what you see here, you may wish to consider applying for an award.

Contribute to a national audit
Neutering is a common procedure, and a great way for you to start your auditing journey. The National Audit for Small Animal Neutering (NASAN) is a free audit tool that allows veterinary teams to measure post-operative complication rates for the neutering of small animals.
Carry out an audit and submit your data before 1 January 2024 to be included in the next benchmarking report.
Get inspired by some award-winning case examples
Stumped for ideas? These case examples are a great way to see how other teams are implementing audits in practice, and how they are learning and making improvements from the results they see.
