Details
Bringing together key policy makers and influencers from across the industry, 'The National Summit for Supporting Quality Improvement in Veterinary Care 2019' will be a highly participatory day focusing on what needs to be done, and by whom, in order to support the enactment and uptake of continuous quality improvement (QI) in the profession.
We have been encouraged by the positive impact of QI and the overwhelming evidence of how it has improved other industries. Its benefits are well documented across a number of clinical and non-clinical scenarios. However, the national support that is available in veterinary care is limited, by comparison. The summit aims to address this and to set the foundations for a future framework.
By holding the summit, we intend to identify:
- The networks that are needed to promote understanding of quality improvement within the profession
- The collaboration and partnering that is necessary in order to work with groups from outside the veterinary sector
- The resources frontline veterinary teams and provider organisations need in order to effectively deliver quality improvement
The summit will be informed by the initial insights provided by the research project commissioned by RCVS Knowledge and delivered by RAND Europe. The outcomes of the summit will then be fed back in to the research, building an unprecedented body of evidence of the drivers, barriers and expectations associated with QI in the veterinary profession.
The day will be facilitated by Dr Tom Ling, Senior Research Leader and Head of Evaluation at RAND Europe.
Attendance at the summit is by invitation only but particularly interested parties are encouraged to contact [email protected].
