Hot and sunny talk in Nottingham

29 May 2012

Trust prize winner, Hazel MullinsThe sun was blazing down on Nottingham Veterinary School for Round Three of our Careers Day tour on 22 May, and we all were wilting a little in the heat.

Around 100 fourth- and fifth-year vet students turned out for talks and Q&A’s on a variety of subjects from careers in industry to working in emergency medicine.

We joined the careers exhibition to promote our library membership draw for final-year students and also had a hamper-load of goodies on offer for the best ‘vetty’ slogan for our new merchandise range.

Students were tasked with coming up with a slogan that we could potentially use on mugs and t-shirts. Among the best of the bunch were ‘I’m a vet…get me out of here!’ and ‘Simply the vets!’.

The overall winner, though, belonged to fifth-year Hazel Mullins (pictured) who scooped the hamper for her on-trend suggestion ‘Keep Calm and Call a Vet’.

Congratulations again to Hazel and thanks to everyone who took part on the day.

If you would like to submit an original slogan for our new merchandise range of mugs and tees just email us at [email protected] with your idea.

If we use it, you’ll get £100 in Amazon vouchers as a thank-you!
